Soldiers of the Scottish regiments wore uniforms which varied from the rest of the army.
The soldier on the left is wearing a diced Glengarry hat. He is wearing a woollen kilt with a canvas apron cover. This cover is khaki and has a buttoned pocket where a sporran would be placed. His tunic is "doublet cut" at the front to allow access to the front pocket. His hose are covered by buttoned canvas gaiters . |
